National Geography released great article about Chiang Mai and its culture in their July/August 2011 issue. The article tell the story of the authors Carl Hoffman's father who lives in Chiang Mai with his Thai wife. The story also well explains the culture and attraction of Chiang Mai. It does touch things like the hill tribes and also visits Elephant Nature Park north of Chiang Mai as well as Thai cuisine. Recommend reading for Chiang Mai residents, travelers or people thinking of relocating to Chiang Mai.

Thats it. No smokey season this year! Its end of April and not a single time this year the numbers have hit the over 120 that is considered standard (already bad air if asked opinion from Chiang Mai residents). Last year air quality was for a longtime around 200 (PM10) and the visibility was barely 100 metres. This year we only had few days of some smoke but nothing compared to previous years. This might be partly because of education but also due to couple of rains we got so conveniently once a week.

 There has been recently many new condo buildings coming up in Chiang Mai. Recent developments are spread mainly both South and North of the city along Canal Road. Some of the most recent finished condo developments are Convention Condo, Karkanok 5, Touch Hill, Mountain Front all North of Huaw Kaew road along Canal Road. Next to Mountain Front condo there is also coming Mountain View which is currently under construction.

In South Siritara is constructing their second building, Nimmanhaemin area got 2 new condo's with Punna 1 & 2 and Unique is under construction. The Trio is old building just renovated on Huaw Kaew Road and another new condo project starting near Convention Hall building area called The Resort Condo.
Other locations, Jigsaw Condominium behind Carrefour on Super Highway and Golf Park Village North of Chiang Mai, My Hip Condo behing Payap University.
For anyone looking new Condo apartment in Chiang Mai the selection is better than ever and prices are still very reasonable, now its the time.
