National Geography released great article about Chiang Mai and its culture in their July/August 2011 issue. The article tell the story of the authors Carl Hoffman's father who lives in Chiang Mai with his Thai wife. The story also well explains the culture and attraction of Chiang Mai. It does touch things like the hill tribes and also visits Elephant Nature Park north of Chiang Mai as well as Thai cuisine.
